According to the notice of the Organization Department of Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee, six applicants recommended by XPU successfully joined the “100 Talents Program ”. They are Yu Qinglin from College of Science, Fu Hanguang from College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Li Yaozhong and Lv Zhenmei from College of Environmental and Chemical Engineering, Lin Xiaowen from College of Management and Cao Wei from College of Apparel and Art Design.

The “100 Talents Program” was established by the provincial committee and provincial government with the aim of enhancing the international cooperation, widening academic horizon and strengthening the construction of various disciplines. Total 13 experts from XPU have been enrolled in this program since 2011.

Appendix: brief introduction of the above-mentioned experts

Yu Qinglin, male, born in June 1960, Canadian citizenship, got his doctor degree in Simon Fraser University of Canada and now is a professor of Thompson River University.Research direction: discrete mathematics, operations research and the industrial application of mathematics.

Fu Hanguang, male, born in October 1964, Chinese nationality, graduated from Shenyang University in 1985 majoring in casting and then finished the doctor degree in Xi’an Jiaotong University. He is now a researcher of Beijing University of Technology.Research direction: advanced wear-resistant materials, specializing in subjects and solidification and heat treatment of large metallurgical rollers, high strength and toughness wear-resistant composite castings.

Li Yaozhong, male, born in February 1969, Chinese nationality, graduated from Xi’an Jiaotong University with doctor degree and now works as a researcher of water equipment in Haier Company in Qingdao.Research direction: membrane water treatment, industrial water treatment and technology and product development in the field of water purification machine.

Lv Zhenmei, female, born in March 1976, Chinese nationality, graduated from XPU in 1998 majoring in environmental engineering. She got her master and doctor degree in Zhejiang University and now she is a professor there.Research direction: the microbial degradation of organic pollutants and the study of microbial ecology with pollute the environment.

Lin Xiaowen, female, born in February 1967, British nationality. She got her master and doctor degree in City University London and now she is a researcher in the University of Southampton.Research direction: energy economy, finance.

Cao Wei, female, born in November 1973, Chinese nationality, graduated from Florida State University with doctor degree and now she is an associate professor in California State University Northridge.Research direction: development of new type special textile, sustainable green fabric and clothing. She focuses on protective properties and comfort of medical textiles and functional clothing design.
