On April 24, 2017, the Thirteenth Awards Ceremony of National Heroic Models was held in Great Hall of the People in Beijing. Cao Chengquan, a student from the school of Management of XPU, was one of those models.

On February 7, 2015, Cao Chengquan saved two people who trapped in marsh gas with flag pole. This herioc act was reported by hundreds of public media including People's Daily ,Guangming Daily and China YouthNews.
