On October 20th, the works of The Inheritance of  Marriage by Zhang Ruitao, Ding Xiaomei, Liu Weibing and Wang Xiaorui in School of New Media Arts won Busan International Environment Arts Festival 2018 Asia ECO Graphics Olympiad.

The “ECO Art Festival” is an international art festival co-organized by the Busan Municipal Government and the South Korea Environmental Culture Federation, as one of the most influential international art festivals in the field of Asian art creativity. Every year, art theoretical scholars, artists, designers and art planners from the United States, Japan, Germany and many other countries are invited to attend various exchange activities to promote the art theory, art creation, art design, art derivation and art development in today’s world.

The Inheritance of Marriage was guided by three teachers including Lei Tong, Yan Yao and Van Huizen Bastiaan in Cartoon Art Department of School of New Media Arts. The works combines Ansai’s folk painting elements with cartoon to spread the wedding customs of northern Shaanxi. It has far-reaching significance for the development of Chinese original cartoon with ethnic characteristics.

This award fully demonstrated the remarkable achievements in personnel training of School of New Media Arts, and attached importance to the cultivation of students’practice ability.
