XPU began to enroll undergraduate students since 1928. It is among the first batch of units authorized by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council to issue bachelor and master degrees. There are currently 19 provincial teaching teams, 31 provincial-level excellent courses and resource sharing courses, 1 provincial online open courses, 2 provincial-level online&offline first-class undergraduate courses, 4 offline first-class undergraduate courses, 1 social practice first-class undergraduate course, and 12 provincial-level talent training model innovation experimental zones. Subjects and disciplines cover eight university disciplines including engineering, science, literature, economics, management, law, art, and education. The school currently has 61 undergraduate majors, including 5 national first-class professional construction sites, 8 provincial first-class professional construction sites; 4 national specialty professional construction sites, 9 provincial specialty professional construction sites; There were 2 national comprehensive reform pilots, 7 provincial-level comprehensive reform pilots, and 5 national-level outstanding engineer education and training programs.

In recent years, XPU has undertaken more than 100 provincial and ministerial education and teaching research projects; won more than 130 provincial and ministerial teaching achievement awards, including 1 national teaching achievement second prize; published more than 740 teaching materials, and won 30 provincial and ministerial excellent teaching materials.

XPU's undergraduate education work is carried out around the "Three ,Six, Nine" working ideas.

Three strategic priorities: Improving teaching style, study atmosphere , the quality of undergraduate education and teaching; welcoming professional  review and evaluation; focusing on cultivation and construction, and striving for national-level teaching results.
