On November 5th and 6th, at the invitation of China International Youth Exchange Center, Piao Xiangpei; Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Korea International Exchange Foundation, and the Chief Representative of the Korea-China Cultural Youth Association (Future Forest), former South Korean Ambassador to China Quan Bingxuan. The 2018 Korean Green Group visited to China, and came to XPU for exchanges. XPU president Gao Ling and vice president Yin Yongjian met with the delegation, and the Party and Government Office, the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, the Youth League Committee, the School of Urban Planning and Municipal Engineering attended the relevant activities.
During this talk, Gao Ling welcomed the visit of the Korean Green Group. He said that the achievements of XPU development were largely due to strengthening cooperation with the community and continuing international exchanges and cooperation. He emphasized that in the future, XPU will continue to insist to internationalization and strengthen cooperation and exchanges with universities and research institutions outside the country.
On November 5th, a group of 100 people from the 2018 Korean Green Group arrived at the Lintong Campus of XPU and visited the "Fengjin New Era, Building a Chinese Dream" photography exhibition for teachers and students and the Textile and Apparel Museum. 64-student representative from XPU conducted ice-breaking activities and cultural programs with Korean visiting young students.
On November 6th, young students from both sides launched the "World Education for All Conference" to simulate the activities of the United Nations. The young students of the two sides were divided into six groups according to six different roles of the United Nations, the government, enterprises, non-profit organizations, the media and the public. Each group discussed environmental protection issues.
It is reported that the Korea-China Cultural Youth Association (Future Forest) was a Korean non-governmental friendship group established in 2002. It mainly organizes young people from both countries to carry out tree planting activities and cultural exchanges in the desert zone. Its chief representative, Piao Bingxuan, was the South Korean ambassador to China. On August 1, 2008, “Future Forest” was officially registered with the UN Environment Agency and became the 230th non-governmental organization with “observer” qualification in the world. This was the first Korean NGO to receive this qualification in Korea.
