On November 7th, good news came. In the finals of the 12th China International Women's Design Grand Prix held in Hangzhou, the work “young OG” created by Li Yiyang, grade 2016 student of the Clothing Design Department of the School of Apparel and Art Design of XPU, was finally won the gold medal prize. And the clothing of the School of Apparel and Art Design, the 2016 class student Hu Yan's work "Food Shang" won the bronze medal.
The 12th China International Women’s Fashion Design Grand Prix was sponsored by the Chinese Association of Fashion Designers and the People's Government of Xiacheng District, Hangzhou. The theme of this competition was "unique charm and wonderful". These works were not only created by outstanding designers from well-known clothing colleges and garment companies in China, but also from nearly ten countries such as Britain, France, Italy, Canada, Korea and so on. The expert judges invited by the Organizing Committee of the contest scored a comprehensive score on creativity and theme, shape and structure, color and fabric, and marketability. Finally, two works created by Li Yiyang and Hu Yan, two students who from XPU, stand out among the 20 groups of design works in the final competition, and they won the gold and bronze prizes respectively which once again verified the teaching ability of XPU's clothing design related specialty and the students' hands-on creative ability.
