On the evening of January 16, 2019 Series Activities for Xi’an college students and a poetry recitation themed with "New Year's Season, Poetic Chang'an" were officially held in Shaanxi Grand Theatre sponsored by Xi'an Municipal Committee and Municipal Government. Zhao Xiaofeng, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee ofX PU, Yang Jianjun, Deputy Director of Students Affairs Department and 42 teachers and student representatives participated in the activities.
Wang Yongkang, Secretary of Municipal Party committees, Hu Runze, director of Committee of Municipal People's Congress, Han Song, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, leaders and academicians of 63 universities in Xi’an were invited to attend the event. At the meeting, Wang Yajie, Secretary of Party Committee of Northwest University, and Han Song, Deputy Secretary of Municipal Party Committee, delivered speeches successively to share their study and struggle experiencesin Xi'an. They hoped that college students would be full of dreams, passion and power to struggle for their dreams and contribute to Xi’an’s development.
During the "New Year's Season, Poetic Chang'an poetry recitation, famous broad casting and opera artistsin Shaanxi provincewere invited to perform with college students on the same stage. In the form of recitation, chanting, chorus, singing, dancing and guqin (a seven-stringed plucked instrument), the long history and rich culture of Xi'an, the beauty and charm of young college students were presented.
This activity is the launching ceremony of2019 Series Activities for college students themed with "Blooming Dreams and Growing with Xi'an". The whole year is divided into six seasons: New Year Season, Youth Season, Graduation Season, Summer Season, Opening Season and Future Season.Itis toarouse college students’ love, attachment, and devotion to Xi'an
After the event,students expressed that they experienced the charm of classical poetry and benefited a lot. At the same time, they expressed best wishes to Xi’an, hoping Xi’an develop even stronger in the future.
