On December 5, Light of Textile Science and Technology Education Awards Conference of 2018 China Textile Industry Federation was held in the Great Hall of the People. More than 600 people attended the conference, including the Party Committee Secretary and secretary-general of the China Textile Industry Federation, Gao Yong, president Sun Ruizhe, the former president Wang Tiankai, and representatives from various universities, industry associations and enterprises. Li Pengfei, vice president of XPU, together with important leaders from Science and Technology Office, Human Resources Office, Student Affairs Office, and some winners of XPU attended the awarding ceremony.

This year, Prof. He Jiangping from School of Textile Science and Engineering of XPU participated in the project Development of Key Technology and Equipment Research of Printing Low-tension Continuous Washing for Printed Knitted Fabrics and won the First Technology Prize. Prof. Shen Lanping participated in the project Research and Application of Key Anti-Wrinkle Technology for Pure Wool Fabric and won the Third Technology Prize. Research on the Development Path and Countermeasure of Textile Industry Innovation Driven by Co-evolution hosted by Associate Prof. Shao Jingfeng from School of Management won the Third Technology Prize. Associate Prof. Fan Wei from School of Textile Science and Engineering, Liu Kaixuan from School of Apparel and Art Design, were awarded Light of Textile Educational Fund. 15 students of XPU were awarded 2017-2018 Light of Textile Scholarship of 120,000RMB.
