On April. 9, 2017 Besun Yangling International Marathon opened in the spring rain at Yangling International convention and Exhibition Center.

Xue Haihong, the national judge of track and field, the director of Sports Department of XPU is one of the judgesof this event. Twenty teachers and students of XPU participated in three kinds of marathon: full marathon (42.195km), half marathon (21.0975km) and mini marathon (5 km). They successfully completed the competition and achieved good results. Zhang Ruitao, a student among them, finished the full marathon in 3 hours 9 minutes and 39 seconds, which reached the level of second grade athletes of the nation.
