On the afternoon of March 17th, Ruth Moir, Vice President of Heriot-Watt University, Prof. Fiona Waldron, Dean of Textile and Art Design College and Wang Zhongyi, Director of the Office of the School's program in China come to visit XPU.

President Gao Yong first on behalf of the university in VIP lounge gave a cordial welcome to the visiting guests and introduced the current situation of our university. He pointed out that our university has more than one hundred years’ history and has become a comprehensive university famous for its main fields in Textile and Apparel, making a great contribution to our society with groups of talents. In recent years, our education for graduate is developing rapidly, which has effectively promoted the scientific research level of our university. On the basis of this, we made great efforts to promote the international cooperation and exchange of scientific research program, and encouraged our teachers to go out to exchange and cooperate in-depth with experts outside.

Prof. Ruth Moir said that, the Textile and Apparel Design College of Heriot-Watt University with its long history has a high reputation in UK and even in the world. As an international university, we are looking forward to further strengthening the cooperation and exchange between both sides of the teachers and students.

Delegation also visited our teaching facilities and laboratory equipments of Textile College and Art and Engineering College .

Our university has carried out all-round cooperation with Heriot-Watt University and signed a comprehensive cooperation memorandum and the joint cultivation project agreement on continuous postgraduate and doctoral academic programs in November 2011.
