From June 10 to June 14, Gonzala Bruce, Director of International Office of Emporia State University, our friendly cooperation partner, together with Prof. Yang Yixin from Chemistry Department of the university, visited XPU.
On the morning of June 13, President Gao Yong had cordial talks with visiting guests in VIP lounge. During the talks, he introduced the basic situation and development of our university in recent years. He pointed out that our university has been focus on improving teaching quality, and paying attention to the path of internationalization at the same time. We have established friendly cooperation with more than 40 universities and institutions outside and developed multi-level substantive cooperation. In recent years, our education for graduate is developing rapidly, which has effectively promoted the scientific research level of our university. On the basis of this, we made great efforts to promote the international cooperation and exchange of scientific research program, and encouraged our teachers to go out to exchange and cooperate in-depth with experts outside. Gao Yong stressed his willing to further strengthen cooperation and exchange between teachers on both sides on the platform built by joint double-degree cultivation programs.
Professor Gonzalo Bruce also briefly introduced the basic situation of Emporia State University, and he said that they would strengthen the close cooperation of the two universities and looked forward to working with more extensive cooperation and exchange, and he believed that the two universities would have more bright prospects for cooperation.
Emporia State University is one of the earliest friendly partners of our university. Since 2005 we developed joint double-degree cultivation projects, there have been more than 80 students going there for further study, and most of them performed excellently and some even were studying for doctor degree in foreign countries. Since now our university has sent more than 10 teachers to Emporia State University for exchange and cooperation. The three teachers selected this year will have symposium with visiting professors on June 12, and then will be sent in September.
