From July 8th to 10th, the 13th International Conference on Textile Bioengineering and Information (TBIS2020), namely the Inaugural Meeting of the International Digital Health and Smart Materials Science and Technology Innovation Alliance was held as scheduled.
Affected by the epidemic, this international conference was conducted online. The conference was jointly organized by the University of Manchester in UK,Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Ind(ENSAIT), Donghua University, and XPU. The British Textile Institute,China Textile Engineering Society, and nearly 20 domestic and foreign universities, scientific research institutions, and enterprises jointly support this organization. XPU’s Academician Yao Mu, Vice President Li Pengfei and other 40 teachers and students from relevant departments and colleges attended the meeting.
With the theme of “Global Fight Against COVID-19,Scientific and Technological Innovation”, this conference aimed to explore the “Sustainable, Healthy and Green” to deal with the national crown pneumonia epidemic, and the new ideas for future challenges in the global public health field from the perspective of technological innovation.
Academician Yao Mu delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He said that the outbreak of COVID-19 has a great influence to the whole world. China’s successful control of the epidemic has benefited from the country's management and the contributions of scientific and technological workers. In this prevention and control of epidemic, medical protective clothing, infection detection technology, the application of Chinese medicinal materials for effective treatment methods, wearable protection and detection have played an active role. At the same time, he advocated that, under the leadership of the International Health Organization, all countries can be used to overcome difficulties and achieve a win-win situation through the implementation of international cooperation.
