From November 7 to 8, 2022, two majors of XPU, namely chemical engineering and technique, mechanical design manufacturing and automation had the national engineering education professional certification. Professor Dai Xianzhong of Southeast University, the leader of the joint expert group, and 7 peers conducted a two-day online certification examination.

During the examination, the experts examined professional laboratories of the two specialties online in groups according to the standards and working norms of engineering education certification, and conducted video discussions and in-depth interviews with teachers, student representatives, alumni representatives, employers, and leaders at both department and university level. They also checked supporting materials about professional theoretical courses, practical courses,and graduation design (thesis), process assessment materials and electronic supporting materials such as the report on the achievement of course objectives.

XPU will adhere to the problem-oriented approach, face the shortcomings directly, strengthen the evaluation and rectification, and further implement the concept of "student-centered, output-oriented and continuous improvement" of engineering certification to optimize the top-level design of talent cultivation, strengthen teachers' team construction, deepen the education reform, and promote the connotation construction and characteristic development.
