On December 21 and 22, the Second West Lake Youth Documentary Forum was held in Hangzhou. The documentary Where to Go directed by Wang Yuyu, Li Zhengkai and Zhang Qixinhe from School of New Media Arts of XPU was selected for the Forum.
The Second West Lake Youth Documentary Forum was co-sponsored by the Documentary Professional Committee of the Chinese Academy of Higher Education, National Anthropology and Ethnology Research Committee, School of Journalism and Communicationin Tsinghua University and School of Humanities in Zhejiang University of Technology. With the theme of New Era&New Youth&New Record, the forum received a total of 304 works from universities including Tsinghua University, Nanjing University, Beijing Film Academy, Central University for Nationalities, and Communication University of China. After preliminary review by experts, 26 domestic and foreign documentary works were selected for this forum.
Where to Go is instructed by Cheng Yuanyuan, a teacher from School of New Media Arts. With the unique style andc ross-combination narrative method, the work presents different choices of contemporary college students and their persistence in dreams.
The awards fully demonstrated the remarkable results of talent training of XPU. In recent years, works of Department of Radio and Television Editing have been recognized by the industry for many times in domestic and international competitions,which plays a good leading and exemplary role in practical teaching.
