From December 8th to 9th, 2018 World Textile and Apparel Education Conference was successfully held. The meeting was attended by 385 experts and scholars in the field of textile and appeal education, who came from 127 universities and industry associations in 26 countries. Fan Zenglu, Vice President of  XPU and Vice Director of China Textile and Apparel Education Association, Wang Jinfu, Vice President of XPU,and other 26 related leaders were invited to attend this conference.

Ni Yangsheng, president of China Textile and Apparel Education Association, gave a keynote speech themed with The Healthy Development of Textile and Appeal Education. The conference focused on the current situation and development trend, internationalization, talent training mode, and reform of textile education. Experts from 27 world’s top Textile Universities, 100 domestic universities and industry associations also had a world high-end discussion onissues such as talent cultivation, teach ing reform, and education internationalization.  Wang Jinfu delivered a report entitled Transformation and upgrading of the textile industry, exploration and practice of inclusive education.

During the conference, the “Belt and Road” World Textile University Alliance was formally established. XPU and 33 other textile universities in 18 different countries became member universities of the Alliance. The number of the member universities and the percentage of universities from “the Belt and Road” countries is the highest among all the university alliances of textile around the world.
