On the afternoon of November 7th,the delegation from Oklahoma Christian University:John·deSteiger,president, John·Osborne, director of International Office , Greg·Gillham, director of Graduate Education Center, Jancy·Scott,directorof Students Admission Office visited XPU. Gao Ling, president of XPU, and Li Pengfei, vice-president of XPU had a meeting with the delegation. Heads of the Graduate School, Teaching Affair Office, General Administration Office and International Office attended the meeting.
Leaders of XPU firstly extended warm welcome to the delegation and stated that XPUand OC have cooperated in teachers’exchange and students’co-cultivation for over ten years. XPU also suggested that teachers from XPU should study abroad longer to do researches and learn English better. Meanwhile, XPU would be very glad to have teachers form OC to teach in XPU, promoting the international education for students.
As China’s engineering education has joined the Washington Agreement, XPU can learn the teaching mode from OC, combing in-class learning with engineering practice and enterprise’sneed. Then heads of Graduate School, Teaching Affair Office, and General Administration Office introduced the priority work to the delegation.
PresidentJohn·deSteiger expressed thanks for the arrangement, and congratulated on theachievement XPU has made. He said that XPU is an important partner university in China, from which many excellent teachers and students studied in OC. He hoped two schools could cooperate in more areas to enable students to share theteaching and research resource.
Later in the afternoon, the delegation delivered a report about OC to the students applying for dual-degree program.
