Recently, the Ministry of Education announced the results of the filing and approval of undergraduate programs in colleges and universities in 2020. Cyberspace Security and Big Data Management and Application, these two new programs were added and Advertising, Industrial Engineering and Digital Media Technology, the three programs were canceled in XPU. At present, there are 61 undergraduate programs in total.
In recent years, XPU has taken the national strategic development and economic and social needs as the preconditions for specialty setting and adjustment. Based on the combination of university running orientation, discipline characteristics and service orientation, the university has continued to carry out dynamic adjustment of specialties and continuously optimized the specialty structure. During the 13th Five-Year Plan, XPU shut down and canceled 12 programs, reducing the original program number to 50, and simultaneously adding 11 new programs, including 7 new engineering programs such as artificial intelligence, big data management and application, covering 7 disciplines of economics, law, literature, science, engineering, management and art, forming a professional system with reasonable structure, appropriate scale and distinctive characteristics.
New program application is an important measure for XPU to actively carry out research and practice of "new engineering" construction around the country's implementation of major strategies such as "Internet +" and "Made in China 2025", and continue to optimize the programs layout. XPU will further optimize the programs structure layout according to the needs of society, industry, local economic and social development , students’ enrollment and employment. At the same time, it will strengthen the connotation development of new programs and the construction of XPU conditions, rationally formulate enrollment plans, carefully formulate undergraduate talent training programs, and coordinate high-quality teaching resources to ensure the quality of new programs talents cultivation.
