On September 17th, the karate competition of the 14th National Games was held in Lintong campus. Tang Bing from Shanghai, Wang Zhiwei from Anhui and Li Ranran from Henan respectively won a gold medal.
In the morning, women’s individual kata kicked off. Tang Bing from Shanghai defeated her rival Tao Yiwei from Chongqing, winning the first gold medal in the karate competition with a score of 24.8-24.20. Tao Yiwei won the silver medal. Liao Yilin from Beijing and Ye Zhenyu from Fujian tied for third place and won the bronze medal.
Wang Zhiwei from Anhui pocketed a gold medal in men’s 67kg in the afternoon. Xiang Jiahao from Zhejiang secured the silver medal. Wu Siluo from Shaanxi as well as Cheng Zeyu from Henan won the bronze medal.
In women’s 55kg , Li Ranran from Henan defeated Ding Jiamei by 2-0. Shen Jiaxin from Beijing and Xie Yu from Zhejiang tied for the bronze medal.
This event is the first national sports competition held by XPU and the first competition held during the normalization of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Competition Committee attaches great importance to it, and goes all out to escort the event.
In the 14th National Games, 141 athletes from 24 provinces and cities across the country (including Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions) participated in the karate competition. 8 competition categories will be set.
