On November 21, the 4th Mechanical Engineering College Student Development Forum was hosted by the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. More than 260 well-known scholars, experts, mechanical postgraduates and undergraduates attended. Participants were from universities and enterprises such as Northwestern Polytechnical University, Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University, Xinjiang University, Ningxia University, Shaanxi University of Science and Technology, Xi’an Technological University, Zhongyuan University of Technology, and LanChuanZhiHui Information Technology Co., Ltd. This forum was held both online and offline.
In the morning, Professor Wang Baozhong, associated dean of the School of Management of XPU, made a report stressing that mechanical engineering college students should strive to cultivate innovative and practical ability, devote to overcoming the key technologies. Wu Dongyuan, general manager of LanChuanZhiHui Information Technology Co., Ltd, introduced the digital production mode of famous enterprises, strengthening their understanding on professional development. Professor Zhang Yingfeng, Secretary of the Party Committee and doctoral supervisor of NPU made a report entitled “Intelligent Manufacturing of Aerospace High-end Equipment”. Professor Zhang pointed out that in the era of AI, it was necessary to focus on key technologies and fields to become high-quality talents with core skills. After the report, the experts and students exchanged ideas on professional development, employment planning, further studies.
In the afternoon, the 3 sub-forums were held online. The mechanical engineering graduate students, cadres of the graduate student association and the undergraduate students conducted in-depth discussions around the practice and achievements of scientific research and innovation.
This forum has promoted the exchanges of graduate and undergraduate students from various universities, strengthened the confidence of mechanical engineering college students in professional development and high-quality employment, and expanded the social popularity of XPU.
