The first batch of international online teaching platforms of colleges and universities of the Ministry of education was officially launched on April 28, 2020, aiming to gather the best universities, teachers and courses in China and provide high-quality online resources for students from all over the world. The first batch of more than 300 courses of 59 universities (including 52 national "double first-class" universities and 7 professional characteristic universities) were released through the international platform . The English edition of "Introduction to textile and Apparel" offered by Prof.Wan Ming of the School of Textile Science and Engineering of XPU was successfully passed the platform review and was officially launchedon May 7, 2020 on the national online teaching international platform "Course online" of Tsinghua University.
China has always been a large textile and garment manufacturing country, and in recent years has been moving forward to the construction of a strong textile and garment country. This course has distinctive characteristics of textile and garment subject, and the goal is to enable students of different majors in different countries to understand the whole industrial chain and production process, product form and characteristics, application scope and latest achievements of modern textile industry. It also helps students to understand the diversity and popularity of consumer demand, and to understand the complexity, intersection and diversity of industry demand for talents (multidisciplinary) so that they can understand the depth and scope of the textile industry's support for economic construction and various industries, which is conducive to promoting students' innovation, integration and growth. The curriculum has distinctive feeatures, especially for belt & road and the Southeast Asian countries that undertake the transfer of domestic textile and garment industry.
The Chinese version of the course has been running for 4 semesters so far, with a total of 11800 courses selected and 27 schools selected. It is rated as the first-class online course in Shaanxi Province in 2019.
