In order to welcome the 40th anniversary of the independent school building of XPU, enhance the international atmosphere and international influence of XPU, strengthen and deepen the exchanges and interactions with the friendly colleges and cooperation institutions of XPU, promote deep-level cooperation, and provide high-quality promotion to our students. Overseas education resources, the school held the second international education exhibition of XPU and the exhibition of educational exchanges and cooperation in the “Open and Future Development” from October 15th to October 16th. More than 40 representatives from 25 partner institutions and cooperative institutions including the United States, Britain, Australia, Singapore, Poland and other countries invited to participate in exhibition. More than 4,000 freshmen,other undergraduate students and postgraduate of XPU participated in this exhibition.
On the morning of October 15, the opening ceremony of the second international education exhibition and educational exchange and cooperation results of XPU was held in the lecture hall of the first floor of the Lintong Campus’s Library of XPU. Principal Gao Ling, Teaching Affairs Office, Graduate School, Student Affairs Office, the leaders of the colleges and representatives of the teachers and student representatives attended the opening ceremony.
Principal Gao Ling first gave a welcome speech on behalf of the school and expressed sincerely welcome to the guests at home and abroad who participated in this educational exhibition. He said that XPU has long been based on school-based, looking at the world, attaches importance to the internationalization road, and constantly promotes various types of overseas exchange programs for students. Gao Ling expressed his hope that through this educational exhibition, and further deepen the interaction with friendly universities, stimulate students' enthusiasm for studying abroad, and played the complementary role of international exchange programs to the training of talents in XPU.
In the subsequent exchange of higher education internationalization forum, Dr. Hu Xiaohan, alumnus of XPU and deputy dean of the Sydney Institute of Business and Technology of Shanghai University, gave a report on "Multi-form project cooperation promotes the international development of universities"; Liu Xiaojie, dean of our graduate school, as 2018 the summer students went to the Nanyang Technological University training program in Singapore to share the achievements of participating projects and analyzing the important role of the internationalization of learning experience in the training of talents; Prof. Desmond Dolan of the University of Kent, gave a report on "Changes in education in the UK and their impact on international students"; Ma Dong, Dean of School of New Media Arts, shared XPU's initiatives and achievements in internationalization and the important support and effectiveness of internationalization in the training of talents and disciplines.
On the morning of the 16th, Liu Jiangnan, secretary of the school party committee, came to the exhibition. Chen Lixia, Director of International Office, reported on the details of the exhibition.
From the afternoon of the 15th to the 16th, a total of about 4,000 ,2018 freshmen and other undergraduate and postgraduate students participated in the educational exhibition at the University Student Activity Center. During the exhibition, 12 project presentations were held to provide related majors students with in all domains of foreign university information, international exchange information and cutting-edge knowledge. As part of our freshman education, the International Education Exhibition provided participants with opportunities to meet face-to-face with representatives of overseas institutions and educational institutions. Students learned more about the school-running characteristics, curriculum and research projects, scholarship information, and application conditions and methods of top-ranking overseas universities, which provided useful guidance for students to plan their studies early and determine future goals.
