On the morning of August 28, the signing and opening ceremony of  XPU Research Institute in Mei County was held in Changxing Textile Industrial Park, Mei County. XPU President Gao Ling, Vice President Li Pengfei, Members of the Standing Committee of the Baoji Municipal Party Committee and Director of the Propaganda Department Wu Yongchao, Deputy Mayor of the Municipal Government Li Ying, Secretary of the Mei County Party Committee Liu Zhisheng, County Mayor Ye Shengqiang, Chairman of Shaanxi Textile Association Tian Fuhai, heads of relevant departments and teachers of XPU participated in the event. Qi Yonghong(XPU alumni), member of the Standing Committee of Mei County Party Committee and Director of the Organization Department hosted the ceremony.   

At the ceremony, Gao Ling and Ye Shengqiang signed the "Mei County People's Government and Xi'an Polytechnic University Cooperation Framework Agreement", then Li Pengfei and Chen Changxu signed the "Cooperation Agreement on the Establishment of Xi'an Polytechnic University Mei County Research Institute".

Changxing Town, Mei County, enjoys the reputation of "the No. 1 textile county in Northwest China" and is one of the province's key industrial  areas. The establishment of "One Instituteand Two Centers" this time is a concrete measure to implement the comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement signed between XPU and the Baoji Municipal People's Government in 2019.

Gao Ling emphasized that enterprises and universities should give full play to their respective advantages, strengthen cooperation between production, education, research and application, promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and form an innovative development system that integrates technology, talents, capital, and markets, so as to realize the combination of scientific research and capital of enterprises and society, to cultivate a group of high-level innovative talents and high-tech achievements, and to accelerate the industrial upgrading and economic development of Mei County.
