National College Digital Art Award (NCDA for short), also known as “The Future Designer” Competition, is one of the most influential competitions for college education and teaching reform and the cultivation of innovative talents. The 8th NCDA collected 60,113 works from 1,106 colleges and universities across the country, and the national competition evaluation has gathered the provincial/regional award items selected through each competition area.
This is a bold attempt made by the School of New Media Art to closely integrate the animation professional discipline competition with theory and practice teaching. By actively participating in the competition, students could combine the theoretical knowledge with practical creation. In the process of preparing for the competition, teachers paid attention to the cultivation of students' innovative consciousness and innovative thinking, focused on the training of students' practical ability and critical thinking process, so as to deepen the understanding and flexible use of professional knowledge and to enhance students' innovative practical ability. The 60 XPU entries basically came from the teaching results of related practical courses such as animation professional joint creation, design practice, cognitive practice, and graduation design.
In the future, the School of New Media Arts will further use subject competitions as a platform and focus on ability improvement, give full play to the innovation-driven role of subject competitions, and realize the promotion of learning, teaching, and doing research by competition, and improve students' professional literacy and innovative practical ability, thus promoting XPU provincial first-class animation professional construction.
