On September 26th, "Science Forum of Shaanxi Association for Science and Technology: XPU Association for Science and Technology Forum of Young Scholars was held in Xifang Lecture Hall of XPU Jinhua Campus. "Young Scholars Forum of Association for Science and Technology of Xi 'an Polytechnic University", organized and undertaken by Science and Technology Association of Xi 'an Polytechnic University and Textile Engineering Society of Shaanxi Province, is one of the series activities of Science Forum of Association for Science and Technology of Universities in Shaanxi Province. With the theme of "Smart Fiber and Smart Wearability", this forum invited Professor Jia Yanmin from Xi 'an University of Posts and Telecommunications, Professor Deng Yongmei and Professor Xiao Yuan from Xi 'an Polytechnic University, Associate Research Fellow Dong Kai from Beijing Institute of Nano energy and Systems, Chinese Academy of Sciences , Associate Professor Fan Wei from Xi 'an Polytechnic University, and postdoctoral fellow Zhang Yong from Tsinghua University. The forum was hosted by Associate Professor Fan Wei, and nearly 100 teachers and graduate students from the School of Textile Science and Engineering, the School of Apparel and Art Design and the School of Materials Science and Engineering attended the forum.
Dr Zhang Yong, a postdoctoral fellow in Tsinghua University, reported the research work entitled "Functional Nano materials Based on Molecular Assembly". Inspired by the natural biological structure, Dr. zhang has grown inorganic nanowires by organic matter-induced inorganic crystal growth, and studied the electro-catalytic performance of the nanowires. Besides, Dr. zhang also introduced the research of inorganic nanoparticles reinforced silk fiber related to textile industry, which gave great inspiration to everyone and aroused heated discussion. Professor Deng Yongmei from XPU School of Apparel and Art Design made use of simulation textile and rational layout of wires, and developed a vest that can realize ECG detection with the title of "Digital Research on Multi-lead ECG Monitoring Clothing" based on understanding the stress analysis in the process of wearing clothing through simulation, which provided some ideas for the study of smart wearable clothing. Professor Jia Yanmin, from School of Science Material Physics Department of Xi 'an University of Posts and Telecommunications, introduced the research achievements on electroluminescence in recent years with the title of "Piezo-(electro)-luminescence coupling effect and Piezo-electro-catalysis of piezoelectric material". Teachers and students present had a heated discussion and communication with Mr. Jia, and his humorous report won warm applause from the audience. Professor Xiao Yuan from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of XPU introduced the research work on micro-droplet jet printing forming technology, flexible device forming of wearable smart textiles and electromechanical control technology with the title of "Jet Printing Forming of Flexible Conductive Circuit on Fabric", and invoked a heated discussion among teachers and students on the spot. Associate researcher Dong Kai, from Beijing Institute of Nano Energy and Systems, Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a report entitled "Intelligent Textile Materials Based on Fiber Plant Friction Nano Generator". Dr. Dong's report greatly inspired everyone, broadened their research horizons and aroused great their interests. Associate Professor Fan Wei, from XPU School of Textile Science and Engineering, gave a report on "Application of Piezoelectric Yarn and its Fabric in Smart Wearable". He introduced the research work of the team on piezoelectric yarn, and gave a comprehensive introduction to the existing problems and current research hot-spots, which made everyone have a certain understanding of the application and industrialization of smart textiles and laid a good foundation for later cooperation.
After the keynote speaker's report, he communicated with the teachers and students of Textile Institute, explained and discussed the questions raised by the participants, and actively interacted with the public, achieving good results. Carrying out the scientific forum activities of the Association for Science and Technology in colleges and universities plays an important role in inter-school, interdisciplinary and academic exchanges, stimulates the scientific research and innovation ability of teachers and students, promotes the interdisciplinary integration, and assists the construction of "double first-class" universities. In the future, Xi 'an Polytechnic University will continue to play the role of a scientific forum and build various academic exchange platforms, so that Xi’an Polytechnic Young Scholars Forum of the Shaanxi University Association for Science and Technology Science Forum will become an excellent academic exchange and technology communication platform where experts gather and academic arguments focus.
