From May 16th to 18th, vice president Dai Hong, teachers and students from the School of Apparel and Art Design, a total of 85 people, went to Beijing for the 2021 China Graduate Fashion Week. It was the fifth time for XPU to participate in China Graduate Fashion Week.

At 8:00 pm on May 18th, XPU graduation works from the School of Apparel and Art Design were released as scheduled in the Central Hall of Beijing Fashion Design Square at 751D Park during the 2021 China Graduate Fashion Week. The graduation design works on display were more than 40 series and nearly 80 sets of excellent series design works selected from nearly 300 series in the programs of apparel and fashion design, performing, apparel design and engineering. The theme of this graduation project was “The Magnificent Chapter of Silk Domain”.

Through the accumulation of thousands of years, Chinese culture has condensed into a broad and profound culture and vigorous art. Nowadays, in the process of collision and blending with the foreign culture, the foreign culture has continuously inspired and enriched the Chinese aesthetic taste, and then developed the Chinese culture. At the same time, it also promoted the development of traditional apparel art. With the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, Chinese style, design and elements have once again become the pursuit and trend of public aesthetics. National expression did not only mean the simple reproduction of traditional culture and the elements of expression. Under the fusion of Chinese and Western civilization, the Chinese character was presented to the world by means of pluralism, inclusiveness and innovation. It created and opened up a new era of their own cultural pattern with the clothing needle and pin. It was not only the responsibility of the designer but also the challenge and opportunity of the fashion trendsetters to create and exploit the cultural pattern of the new era.

According to the Articles of Association of China Graduate Fashion Week, the 2021 China Graduate Fashion Week Awards were selected by the China Fashion Association and the China Graduate Fashion Week Committee in Beijing on May 20, 2021.Wu Yanting, a 2017 enrolled student from apparel and fashion design program, was awarded the Women Wear Design Award and the Fabric Utilization Award from INMAN. Song Zhuojin, a grade 2017 enrolled student from apparel and fashion design program, was awarded the 26th New Talent Award for Excellence.
